Detailed 7-Day Tsavo Safari & Mombasa Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, check out of your Nairobi hotel and drive with your guide to Tsavo West National Park via the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway. Spot some wildlife as you enter the park on the way to your lodge. Check in, have lunch, and relax.
In the afternoon, go for a game drive to see the park’s resident animals. Visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary for a chance to see black rhinos, white rhinos, and other wildlife. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Game drives in Tsavo West National Park
Spend the day exploring Tsavo West on game drives. Start with a pre-sunrise drive to spot nocturnal animals and early grazers. Look out for elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and hyenas.
Visit Mzima Springs for underwater views of fish and hippos, then continue to Shetani Lava Flow and Poacher’s Lookout before returning to your lodge for the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
After breakfast, cross over to the larger Tsavo East National Park for a full day of exploration. On your game drive, look for elephants, wildebeests, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, zebras, giraffes, baboons, warthogs, crocodiles, gerenuks, lions, and hyenas. Day 4: Transfer to Mombasa
