Tsavo Gate is in the northeastern part of Tsavo West National Park, only a few minutes’ drive from the A109 Nairobi–Mombasa highway. Together with Mtito Andei Gate, it is one of the main entry points for tourists starting their Tsavo National Park safari from Nairobi.
Tsavo Gate is located south of the main Mtito Andei Gate and is fully developed with tourism facilities and wildlife service offices.
At this gate, visitors can pay the park entrance fee using a credit card. It is one of the best-located gates, sitting on the edge of Tsavo West National Park, with Tsavo East National Park beginning just across the road. Because of its position, it is easy to reach, even by public transport. Visitors can also fly directly to Tsavo Airport.
All park entry fees must be prepaid at the bank, and no cash payments are accepted. Credit card payments are available at the gates. It is important to note that park gates are the only official entry and exit points.

Tsavo West National Park is one of Kenya’s premium national parks, attracting many visitors every year. It is a popular stop on most Kenya safaris.
The park is also known as the “Park of the Man-Eaters” because of the large number of lions that killed railway builders during the construction of the East African Railway.
